Tradition...maybe?

So, I have been trying to think of things to do with the kids and Derek that are, well...traditional:) So, I thought of one. The Saturday after Thanksgiving we will make the first (of many) cup of hot chocolate with marsh mellows. However, a HUGE meltdown happened with the kids when it was time to take away the cups! So bad that we had to put the kids to bed, then LP started crying, and it was just a mess!!! So, when I say maybe I really mean maybe! I am sure I will do it next year, kind of like when you are pregnant and you forget how much you hate not being able to sleep yet you have more children!! haha....look at the time of this post:)

Turkey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday was a blast! We did a bunch of stuff around the house then headed over to Linda's to have some DINNER! SHE is such an excellent cook that I knew we would not be disappointed. The turkey was moist, stuffing great (I only eat hers), mash potatoes fluffy and the drinks were a-flowing! We were suppose to go to my sisters since she and her family are moving in June, but we really wanted to spend time with Derek's dad. While at Linda's the kids played out front, out back, in their 'room', and else where in the house. I have started to call it Grandma Land....it really is! Everything a grandchild would want is there, from white donuts and movies to rockets and a pool. For goodness sake...they have their own room! It was just a fab time and I am so happy that we were there with almost all of the fam!

What happened to naps!

So, I have been dealing with the issue of naps the last few weeks! My mom has always told me that myself and my sisters stopped taking naps at 1 year and I told myself I would sooooo not allow my children to do that! So as LP sits here and watches her toys and me typing.......

while I laugh at Leno and Charles Barkley play darts on TV I have realized....my mom was a SAINT! To deal with three girls who would not take the afternoon nap...why is my mom not in a mental insitute! As a mom, those naps have saved my sanity, given me chat time with girlfriends and family, let me take a nap myself, and let me CLEAN! However, I think the day has come that I will no longer have those two hours a day with 'no children' at my hip....

yet I have to say that Lillian has given me hope (Lil in her crib)

I know that God is looking down and laughing at me right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

For some reason last week seems like a fog! Many know that Derek got 'fixed' on the 13th and I had to take care of him, but he was driving me crazy so the kids and I were really at home as little as possible. THAT SOUNDS SO HORRIBLE! But really we would have bothered him anyways if we were home:) Going down on HB, then to Corona to see Sara 2's new house, then home and in bed at 8pm was Saturday. Sunday, Lilly and I went to Kels, Carly, and Max's cross country meet at Mt Sac. It was the first time that I had been to one and I was shocked by how much fun I had. I think because it reminded me of swimming in high school. Then lunch with Derek and shopping and cleaning finished up the weekend.

Monday....Lillian got shots!!! She had her 2 month check up and weighed in at 11 pds, was 22 3/4 inches long, and very healthy. She is pretty much sleeping though the night and loves her boppy! Derek came home and Pa and Michelle came over for dinner, where I feel asleep on the couch at 8. I guess I was tired because I never do that with guests here!!!

Tuesday, Wednesday....shopping! I had to find something to wear for Kelly B's wedding, but ended up finding the kids a bunch of stuff (love Macy's sales!). Thursday we had Kelly's rehearsal and dinner in LA so we left here at 4. It took 2 1/2 hours to get there....I HATE LA! But ya know the drive was so worth it! We had dinner at the on the top floor of the Wells Fargo building (54th floor) and with all of the lights the city looked beautiful. Thank you Em for watching the kids for us! On Friday was the wedding, so we had to leave here at 1, sat in traffic, checked into the hotel, Derek went and took pictures at 4 and I sat at the bar!!!! The hotel was beautiful, in fact it was the host of the first 10 Oscar Awards. The history of people who were in that building at some point was crazy to all of the guests who attended. The wedding ceremony was very short and sweet, Amanda looked beautiful, Kelly handsome in his suit, Derek looked HOT in his tux with his shoulders, I felt very fat, and my camera stopped working after I took some pictures (I do not know why), they took my food away while I was talking to the bride and groom so I was very hungry, I think I drank the bar out of wine, Derek got cut off at the bar, and I welllllll.....dropped a wine glass and it shattered everywhere!! Oh well, we had a great time and it was the first time we were away from the kids in who knows how long:) Thank you Michelle for watching the kids!!!!

Saturday and Sunday was full of shopping for Christmas presents, naps during the day, but I did not CLEAN...so today is cleaning!!!

This was a surprise!

Derek was heading up to be tonight and was a little shocked to see this...

I have been thinking or awhile now that Drew was going to fall asleep at the top of the stairs. Every once in a while we find his sippy or his dolly, Sam, awaiting us at the top either during nap or bedtime...but to find him was a HOOT!! Of course, I grabbed the camera and took a few shots. These are the times I will not forget.

Happy Birthday Patty!

Happy Birthday Patty!!!!!!!

The last one standing!

We are a family of five and we love it, but when one person gets sick... it is not contained to just that person! I hate, hate, hate, hate and I will write it again, I hate taking care of sick people! Oh, I know it sounds so mean because I should be a caring momma and wife to my family who is sick, but ya know....it really stinks! Friday night...."Drew-Drew are you okay? Em you need to eat more of your dinner. Derek you are sounding stuffed up."
Saturday during the day....Drew is in the bathroom most of the day, Em will not eat, and Derek thinks that drinking a crown and coke will help him feel better:)
Saturday night- Drew has a temp of 100.1 and Emma has one of 103! Derek...still thinks he can make himself feel better eventhough he has a 100 temp himself! On a side note I took Derek's temp and he said to me, "i am a big boy and I can take it myself," it is funny to me that I do these things now:)
Sunday...I can not believe the sickness in this house! Drew, Em and Derek sleep throughout the day, everyone has rosey cheeks, we are wasting food because no one is eating!
Now what did mommy do?? I am going to write this as totals....
Swept & Mopped the floor- 3x
Loads of laundry- 9
Meals made (no eating out for us)- 9
Bottles fed to Lillian-...I can not even tell you how many!
Times the dishwasher ran- 5x
Vaccumed downstairs- 2x
Vaccumed upstairs- 1x
Ceiling fans cleaned- 4
Backyards cleaned- 1
Oh there is so much more that I can not even remember!
POINT BEING, A MOTHERS JOB IS NEVER DONE! It has taken me almost two hours to even write this post because two kids need milk, one needs her bibi, Derek is driving me crazy with his coughing, and I had to watch the final episode for the season of Mad Men on the DVR. OH life!
