Banning Residence Museum

This past weekend my mom and Brian invited us to go to an open house/Christmas celebration at the Banning Residence Museum http://www.thebanningmuseum.org/

Derek had a game so he could not go, but we had such a great time with Nana and papa! There was hot cider and treats, a tour of the historic 1864 house, Santa and crafts were in the carriage house, a carriage ride (pulled by mules), a self guided tour of the Drummer Barracks, Civil War reenactors dressed in traditional outfits, and period dancers.

The Museum was not too crowed, but had a steady flow of people. I was very happy to see that many people take an interest in history! I have and will always do things like this with our children and hope that others will seek out events in their communities to participate in. After all, it is our countries history!

I would love to go to a place like that, being a history buff myself. =)
