Blog Challenge, Favorite Vacation, Something I have learned, Ipod Shuffle

Okay, I am going to put all of these days together because they are short and as far as I know I am wayyyyy behind!

Favorite Vacation-
More like a stay-cation! We had so much fun around the OC and LB that weekend. A few months later I got pregnant with Lillian and since then vacations are a little more difficult, but we love them all...this one I seem to love the most, so far:)



Something I have learned
I have learned so much, but one of the most important is that I need to be more upfront with people. Bottom line:)

IPod Shuffle-
I do not own an IPod, but I love Pandora on my G2 which depending on what I am doing the songs can range from artists such as Carrie Underwood to LLCoolJ.

Blog Challenge, Favorite City..

I do not have a favorite city, maybe one day I will. I do have a feeling though that when I get to Europe it will be there. Remember I am a history dork!

Blog Challenge, Nick Names

I have a very non-nickname name, Sara. I love my name, but heck what can you do with that? For example Andrew. He is called Andrew, Drew, Andy, and Drew-Drew. He even has a nickname for his middle name. Clint and Patty call him Topher from Christopher. Me, well I got Sara. My sisters recieved names from our parents that have many nicknames, but not me! Emilee has Emma/Em/Emmi/Emma delima/mammas. Patricia has Pat/Patty/PattyAnn/PatriciaAnn. I guess I hold some sort of resentment or something, haha. Mommy, I love you:)

I do have some nicknames though, but they are a mix of words. Here they are...

Sar, Sarabear, Sarbear, Sara Lynneyyy, Pepe, Saratins, Tins, Booty, Poof, and Hotrounds.

Can you guess which ones were given by Derek? I do not even know if he calls me Sara except for when he is mad at me!! haha

Something I Miss, Blog Challenge

I miss youth. I miss not having to pay bills, worry about my health, worry about dying, I miss being able to be awake until 1 or 2 am and not be tired in the morning, I had no wrinkles, I miss being able to eat or drink whatever I wanted and not gain weight, I miss my back or shoulders not hurting, I miss being able to fight a cold in a day or two.

HOWEVER, there is no way in HELL I would really go back there. I had no money, no true sense of who I was, did some 'not so' good things to my body and others, I had to work three jobs to make it through college (awe...beer cart girl, chilli's, and daycare provider....I do not miss you). Now I can drive where I want, do what I want, and say what I want (with tact of course).

I like the feeling of youth...you are just young! To feel carefree. To have more energy without the need to caffeine or B100's! That is about it though:)

Challenge, Something I Regret.

I always say that I do not regret anything that I have done or said. Yes, I may want to change things at the moment or want to close my eyes real hard while shaking my head and think, "argh, why Sara, why!?" However, my past has made me who I am. I can not change it, but try to learn from the good and the bad to make wiser choices in the future.

With that being said, I wish I had pushed harder for Derek to go to his Papa's funeral. At the time funds were limited and I was pregnant with Emma and really was not in the pushing mood. Sometimes Derek needs to be pushed and looking back (actually even during) I knew that if he did not go it may be sad for him in the future. I was right. Now I am making a point to say goodbye to people that we loose. Even if that means going to the other side of the country.

On the way home!

On the way home from Monterey we braved the slippery streets and headed to TO where Derek and the family were celebrating Skylar and Michelle's birthday's. Derek was so happy to see us!! I was a zombie from the driving, but as you can see from the pictures the kids had a great time with all of their cousins! Since it was so wet outside they brought the ping pong table to the living room (shocked Aunt Cindy allowed that!) where it replaced the white furniture!!! No swimming or going outside for the Lee's, but it was nice to see Big Connor because he is always filming! Argh! We were sad that Michelle was not there, but that 38yr old can not hide from us for long!!!

 

BUT! When we woke up on Monday I had to cancel a play date with Darci because this little boy decided to get sick!

Monterey!

 

Last weekend the kids and I headed up north to see Patty, Clint and the doggies! Besides the rain driving up there and back we had a great time. It was a short trip, but we did a bunch. We went to NPS, Presidio, the aquarium, the wharf, went to dinners and lunches, hung out and played Donkey Kong....mind you, all of this was done while in the rain. It was such a nice time and I just love seeing my sister! In a few weeks we will be back and I am praying that the weather will be a little better!

Happy Saint Patty's Day!

Only a week late, but better late than never!

We hope that everyone had a safe and fun St. Patty's Day! I love the day. I love how everyone wears green, everyone wants to eat and drink, and now how Drew asks about the little men with hats! Too cute.

We had out usual dinner and a Guinness, but I was in such a rush to go see baby Samy that I ate so quickly and hauled butt over to the hospital. Here are a few pics of Em helping me cook dinner, our family eating it, and a few of me trying to get a cute picture of the kids out front.

 

Challenge Day, Something I am looking forward to...

I am looking forward to going back to my sisters house in Monterey, Em coming out this summer and we head to Vegas for her 30th, going to PS for my moms group Founders Day, going to MA in May for my Auntie's internment, and of course for SUMMER!!!

Wednesday, two birthday parties!

Okay, I have been meaning to blog about this for some time........almost two months!

On a Wednesday we had two, yes two, birthday parties to go to! I tried to throw a moms groups function in, but did not have the energy! At 11 was Grace's princess birthday party, she turned 3. I managed to have Emma attend ballet then off to Kaya's 3rd birthday party at a jump house place. I was pooped when we got home.

Yes, I got another one! I have two other very small ones, but love the placement of these three 'loves of my life.' Top to bottom; Drew- Feb, Em-July, and LP-Sept. Colors are their birth stones and the pic was taken by Derek the day after I got it done. I REALLY wanted it on my inner wrist, but Derek shot that down. Actually he said, "when I am old and you have to go to work I do not think they would want to hire an old lady with a tats on her wrist." Whatever! Ya,ya Derek I actually love the placement of these blossoms right around my shoulder blade...going to be so cute with tanks! It has been a little over a week since I did this and I am in a tank right now cleaning in 60 degrees, but love it!!!!!

Dream House, Blog Challenge

This is the house of my dreams. One story, three bedrooms, and a red door! I just googled what I wanted and this is it. It also has two covered porches and the floor plan is great! Also, when Derek and I get old there will be no problem for our wheel chairs! I will get a house like this one day.....I will! In fact it is kind of funy but the house we live in right now is kind of like this, but a duplex:( Simple and small that we can live in forever is what we want! Oh and in the area we live in now.

MARLENE HAD HER BABY!!

Born March 16th at 10:30pm, 7lbs, 20inches long, perfectly healthy, a NATURAL child birth, and the SON to Mar and Sam....here is Samy Mozart Zaka!!






Sam is by far one of the cutest babies I have EVER seen. He is just too cute!
As soon as Derek got home on Thursday we ate and I headed over to the hospital to see him and his parents. They did not know the sex of the baby, so when it slid (rather got pushed out) out as a boy I think the entire Daut/Kemper/Zaka families jumped for joy because this the the first grandson on both sides! I am so proud of Mar and happy for their entire family!

When I stopped by their house yesterday I swear that kid has gotten cuter! Welcome to the world little man!

Day 15, Bible Verse

I can say this and not be too ashamed of it. I do not know any bible verses by heart or can name any that I like. Does that make me a bad Christian? Nope, I do not believe so. I just can not search the web for popular bible verses with the purpose of typing it here. I have a great memory, but for some reason I really do not care to memorize/recite bible verses. Not sure why? That just how my brain works. I should go read the Screwtype Letters again, haha! Look it up.

I know other stuff in that great book God has given us, but no verses:) Doe that make sense?

Blog Challenge Day #11, TV Shows

I have not been doing the blog challenges in order...if you have not noticed haha!

My favorite TV Shows as of this moment are.......








I have so many more and love having DVR's in two rooms, but if I were to put all of the shows I love to watch everyone would think I am a sad, sad, sad lady! Basically, I love anything (yes, note the Law and Order is from the old show that they cancelled and I cried about, but I love all of the series) that is not a reality show. Actually let me take that back. I HATE reality TV, but loved the display of white trash on "Rock of Love with Bret Michaels!" That show was horribly great!

Blog Challenge Day #12, What I Believe In

This goes with out saying, I believe in God. I just have to say that because if I did not then would people think that I did not if I did not post it? You would be surprised.

I believe in me. I believe that if I really want something to happen, that I have the power to control then I can make it happen. I believe that I am a great person, great friend, great listener, and great wife/mother. I really do believe that. When I do not say it then it is because I do not want to be cocky or may be having a bad day. Yes, there have been times in my life when I have not been a great person, friend, wife or mother....but ya know what who can be great all of the time?? I may slip, but at the end of the day I truly believe in myself. I believe in me.

Blog Challenge 13, Goals

Oh goals! There are so many that I have and I really want to obtain them all, but I am not sure I will. So here are the long term as well as short term goals.

Short Term-

organize my house (it will just get unorganized again soon), finish updating my blog, get the girls a lamp for their room (horrible how they are using a flood lamp, but I can not find one that I like enough to put in there), finish all of my laundry in the house!, put all pic from computer on a backup, and make doc appts for Derek.

Long Term-

me, lose 40pds (I have been saying that for years), scrapbooks for the kids, buy a house, go to Europe, help our children when they go to college, always stay married to Derek, blah, blah, blah. I really do not mind writing the blah, blah part because heck...long term goals, I am focusing on right now!!!!

Blog Challenge, Day 14..A pic you love

This picture is of Emma when she was born! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this picture! Derek took this picture, instead of fainting, and I am so happy that he did! Before she even took a breath she looked beautiful and we loved her. It is the beginning of life and I wish we had the same picture of each of the kids.

Bog Challenge, Day 10...Something I am afraid of

I am afraid.....of death!

I know I am not suppose to be, being a Christian woman, but I am. The entire act, the way it is suppose to feel, leaving my family, and SO much more. This is where my anxiety comes from and probably will forever. I love God and know where I am going...I am just scared and I think that is okay, yet my body and mind sometimes take me to some pretty freaky thoughts!!! Just being honest!

**On a side not this does not mean that I thought radiation was going to come from the sky and kill us all....that is just sill! Yet, people thought that since I have anxiety I would think that way....heads up I am not crazy!**

My Gym

My Mom's group went to My Gym for a field trip. It was a lot of fun and all of the kids loved it! We have been there once before, but Em did not want to join in the fun and Lilly was too small for anything really. The empolyees are really nice (a little over board if you ask me, haha!) and for the hour we were there I really did not have to worry about any of the kids hurting themselves...very safe. http//www.my-gym.com

Day 8, Place I have been

I have never left the continental US, one day I know I will. I hate to fly! I love road trips! However, when I was younger we always flew back east. One of my favorite places was Wells Beach, Maine. I can still smell the air at the beach, hear the sound track of "Phantom of the Opera" playing in my grandma's car, and seeing those little red cups my grandma and Auntie Kim would carry down to the beach...now I understand what they REALLY had in them. I have gone back there a few times as an adult and can not wait to bring my children there!
